I am classically trained photographer that shoots how light interacts with the subject. I use my knowledge of art history as reference to frame my subjects. During my university classes I spent hundreds of hours in the dark room hand developing my images learning the value of patience during the various stages of developing. I take huge pride in my post processing skills and carrying over my knowledge from the darkroom in to Lightroom. My influences include Avedon, Karsh, Cartier-Bresson and Leonard.
My philosophy with the photography is that I I thrive on turning concepts into images and adding my own unique twist. I get great satisfaction from making my clients' lives easier. I love creating productions where the atmosphere is relaxed, loads of fun, and maybe just a bit quirky. I have huge passion for shooting live music and crowds. If you like my work that much, I am willing to travel to your show or with you or your band during your next tour.
Sessions are conducted both in the studio or on location, using both a combination of studio and natural lighting. Each session is tailored to the needs of the individual and type of portraits or headshots. Dan enjoys working collaboratively with his subjects and offers direction according to the preference of the individual. We offer the options for a makeup artist and wardrobe. If you don’t have a stylist, Dan can meet with you prior to the shoot to discuss wardrobe.
